Paid Oma Miemie Cafe and Bakery a visit on our recent trip to the Northern Cape. Best stop on our route. Friendly and helpful staff. Great food and also bought a delicious freshly baked bread and some jam.
Freshly baked lamb pies, carrot cake, pecan pie and bread, good coffee and friendly faces, in a little white cottage in Kenhardt.
Oma Miemie is a women-owned cafe and bakery on Hoof Street in Kenhardt, on the road between the Kgalagadi and Cape Town.
Everything comes out of our own oven: lamb pies with fillings like coriander and peach, carrot cake, pecan pie, date slices and fresh bread. Pop in for a coffee and a smoothie, or sit down for a proper meal.
Travelling on? Take a loaf of bread, a jar of jam or a box of frozen pies for the road.

Pies, cakes and bread, with good coffee and smoothies.

"Absolutely the best pie enjoyed here. Freshly baked coriander and peach lamb pie. Really incredible. Superb service, venue and atmosphere."Google review

Such a gem! We popped in for a coffee and ended up having the best date slices ever. Smoothies are also really good, and they sell an assortment of other delicious, fresh treats.
Fantastic stop between Kgalagadi and Cape Town. Really tasty pies and pastries. Clean and neat. Will definitely support them again.
On the R27 through Kenhardt, between Upington and Calvinia.
